Name:Rio
Birthdate:Jul 14
Rio is, in a word, cheerful. He's upbeat, overflowing with good will and always has a hopeful word for a friend in need. He's quick to trust and smiles come easy to him, as excitable as he's often able to get at the smallest things. His good-nature extends beyond just face value, right up to his mannerisms and the courteous way he addresses his master, elders and peers alike. Manners are a big part of this nature as well, and he has no qualms about letting someone know how rude or out of line they are.

That excitability and expressiveness at the smallest provocation is not always a good thing, however, as it's mirrored in many of the other emotions he displays. Paired with his hefty consumption of drama tv (most notably in the form of soap operas) with his trainer's friends, it can sometimes lead to him being a tad dramatic.

A dangerous or semi-dangerous situation may elicit terror-filled screams, a round of the 'blame game' and a heavy dose of flailing. Anger and disappointment are slow builders but linger on days and sometimes weeks after any reasonable person may have dropped the feelings. He doesn't forgive easily, but apologies due to his own errors arrive at the speed of light. They sometimes involve a variety of means to express his deepest regret and various ways to rectify the situation to an extent some may consider bordering on silly. Whatever response would normally be appropriate to a given situation, Rio sometimes inappropriately overreacts.

He's stricken with a bit of vanity as well, picking up the trait from his trainer. Rio takes great pains to make himself look as presentable as possible at all times. This includes spending far too much time picking accessories, 'fixing' himself in the mirror, bathing excessively and making sure to never cry in front of anyone if it can be avoided (since he's convinced there's no possible way to look like anything but an ugly gloom when crying). His time as a contest pokemon sparked an adoration for fashion that isn't easily diverted, often switching between traditionally male and female clothing to suit his mood.

Despite these things, Rio is generally optimistic, if a bit naïve, and easy to get along with. Though usually pampered by his doting trainer and her friends, his steadfast determination and dedication to his craft belie his upbringing. Still, his view of the world around him and how people are treated are at least a bit skewed, due the the relative seclusion he's endured living on a farm.
